One sign that summer is almost over is the annual Doggie Swim in Jacksonville. For one afternoon in September, Splash Zone is the place to be if you are a dog and a dog owner.

On September 11, the Jacksonville Parks and Recreation Department along with the Jacksonville Dog Park Committee sponsored its 3rd annual Doggie Swim. Dogs of all breeds and their owners drove hours to enjoy the event. The afternoon was spent by chasing fetch toys, splashing through the water or just sun bathing in the shallow end. The dogs had a great time too!

The annual event is a fundraiser for the Jacksonville Dog Park and the proceeds are used for improvements at the dog park. This year 62 dogs and their owners participated in the fun.
