Student Scholarships
Two scholarships will be offered to parks and recreation students. The scholarships are competitive among all schools and specialty areas so that the best two students in the state will be selected.
Each scholarship will be $1,000 and will be paid directly to the student. This is one method ARPA uses to help the parks and recreation profession and promote professionalism.
Eligibility Guidelines
- Applicant must be a parks and recreation major in a 2-year, 4-year, or graduate program attending an Arkansas college or university.
- Applicant must be a member of the Arkansas Recreation & Parks Association. Membership application and fee may accompany the scholarship application.
- Student must have completed 4 semesters or 60 credit hours with a minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4-point grading system.
Application Requirements
The following information must be included in the application. Please combine all information into one PDF.
- Letter of recommendation from a faculty member on school letterhead
- One-page biography/resume written by the student, including school experience, volunteer experience, work experience, future career path plan, and an explanation of need and worthiness
