Job Objective & Safety/Security Sensitive Designation
Yes – This is a safety/security sensitive position for purposes of the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment.
JOB OBJECTIVE: To supervise the day-to-day operations of a community center in the Department of Parks and Recreation; ensures the center is operated in compliance with all applicable guidelines, standards, policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications and Additional Requirements

These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through the completion of an Associate’s degree or two (2) years of college coursework in Parks and Recreation Management, Recreation Administration, Parks Administration, Leisure Sciences, Physical Education, or a related area, two (2) years of experience in directing athletic or recreational programs, or a related area, and one (1) year of supervisory experience.  Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.


  • Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver’s License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
  • Must possess Standard First Aid and Community CPR certifications, or other certifications which incorporate Standard First Aid and Infant, Child and Adult CPR, within six (6) months of employment, and maintain certifications for the duration of employment in this position.
  • Must be available to work outside normal working hours including shift assignments, nights, and weekends.
