Question: Do you charge any admission fees to your park during regular league baseball and softball games? If so, how much do you charge and what is the money used for?

Answers:

Russellville, West Fork, Rogers, Fort Smith, Fayetteville, Nashville and DeQueen P&R: Only charge for tournaments.

Harrison and Little Rock: No charge

Dixie Softball: We do not recommend charging admission fees to regular season games. If a league wants to charge an admission fee they do it on their own and all fees collected will stay with the league. The only fees that a league sends to Dixie Softball is $15 national fee per team and a $25 state fee per age group (not team). All state and national fees collected go to promote Dixie Softball. All officials (district, state and national) of Dixie Softball are volunteers and receive no salary. The fees they receive help offset some expenses such as travel, postage, supplies, etc. When a tournament is held, the host, if required by a vote of the leagues within a state, pays a small fee to host the tournament and all profits stay with the league that hosted the tournament.

North Little Rock: We contract with associations and theschool districts to run leagues and their programs. They pay us fees to dothis. We allow them to charge a gate and we do the concessions. For tournamentspeople pay us a rental fees and we get 20 percent off the gate. Those whodocument and can prove economic impact by staying in our hotels get the gatepercentage waved for those tournaments.

Mulberry: Yes, the Mulberry Little League Sports Program does charge admission. Children 12 & Under Free – 13 & over $2.00. Money is used for field repairs, maintenance, equipment purchases, umpire fees, etc.

Berryville: No, Berryville Parks do not charge for Little League or other Parks fields admission. The exception is Tournament Play (not done for several years) in the past this has been done on at $3 per person. These moneys would stay in the baseball programs (City Parks programs). The local High School Softball (Girls) and Baseball (Boys) do charge an admission fee to these city managed fields, these amounts are typically $3 per person (all moneys stay with the High School Athletics programs).

Bryant: our softball charges $1 and baseball is going to start charging $1 in 2012

Sherwood: No admission allowed on league games because we received a grant to help build the park back in the 90’s. There was a stipulation about admission fees for league. Tournament play is different, admission fees are allowed. The rate is set by who is hosting the tournament. On average, the fees are $5 per adult and $3 per kid. There are many variations and combinations such as $8 per adult and all kids free, weekend pass for $10. Tournament directors collect the entire fee.

Jonesboro: The city governs softball only. We do not charge a gate fee during league play. However, for weekend tournaments there is a gate fee. It varies from 3.50 to 5.00 for anyone 12 and up.
